2004 Review

Let's make Winter disappear, Part I: South Florida Christmas '04. All was fair, all was bright.

Let's make Winter disappear, Part II: A couple of months in New Zealand and Australia was planned. The rub? Couldn't get back from there. Flight out was available for January, wouldn't be able to return until June. The dog would miss us. [update: the dog won't be missing us any more, sigh. Rest in Peace, Aussie]

So, we headed to India by way of Thailand. We were gone about 2 months -- one month in India, one month between parts of Thailand Left January 21st, in the air for Scott's birthday on the 22nd, home March 23rd.

Update 4/5/04: Back in school where he belongs? Scott starts full-time schooling in Culinary Arts. The location is Vancouver, British Columbia -- and the details are here.

Update Update: he passed the course and ended up back at the same place the following year for their Pastry program

Passive Aggressor? Come September, we're back with our dive buddies, this time in the Cayman Islands, on a boat called the Cayman Aggressor. Update: oops! Cancelled due to hurricane. We went to Hawaii instead. On about 16 hours notice.

Car-Keys Mid- November, we headed south by car, taking a couple of weeks to cover the south east coast of the US. Eventually we'll end up at Kathy's folks' house in the lower Florida Keys. We'll stay there over Christmas '05, importing Scott's parents too so they won't be freezing alone back in New England. Took the Amtrak "auto train" back, cutting almost 900 miles off our return drive. Fun.
