Chiang Mai, Thailand

After a richly rewarding experience with Heifer International Thailand in the last part of 2001, I (Scott) returned to Thailand to study Thai and continue to volunteer. It was a wonderful, yet sometimes lonesome experience, so in my spare time (while not otherwise busy pulling my hair out over Thai language's 5 tones), I kept an informal log of the experience. It helped pass the time, and in retrospect made for occasionally interesting reading.
Kathy joined me in late March, so you'll see the detail in the reports drops off fairly dramatically. It's more fun to interact with a person than a computer. Usually.
What's here? A day by day (up to a point) log of my 2.5 months in the "Rose of the North". If you wanted to start at the beginning, this is the first entry.
Scott made a brief trip back to Thailand and Singapore in the winter of 2003 and we returned to Thailand (and India) at the beginning of 2004 (again, to escape the "2004" winter. About that trip... here.
