Even Cuter “In Person”
What would Antarctica be without seeing some penguins? This cutie at left, is a "gentoo".
Our first views of penguins came by within a few seconds of arriving in Antarctica, as pods of penguins came porpoising by. But the real thrill is to visit the penguin rookeries – where they are raising their young. It's getting on towards late summer, and the penguin chicks are now in their late adolescence (and acting every bit the part).
