Y'all Been to Rapa Nui?

Strangest Question heard from a Cowboy

Our placeWe're sitting down at "Our Place", a simple breakfast joint across the street from our Cody, WY hotel, serving both tourists and locals.

I was wearing whatever shirt was on the top of the suitcase, a green one with a turtle and "Rarotonga" on it. Kathy was wearing a Galapagos islands t-shirt. We'd been to both those places on a cruise about a year ago.

So you can imagine our confusion when this cowboy, straight out of some old western movie walks up to me sitting at the table, and says "Y'all been to Rapa Nui" (Easter Island). He caught me by surprise (it's like, when a waitress comes to your table, you don't expect her to ask, say, "Are you familiar with Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle?" (yes, as a matter of fact, we are; but no, we have no Gray Poupon.)

Anyway, this classic cowboy type, jeans, stetson, boots, mustache -- tells us about his visit and how interesting it was. The food was completely mediocre, but the interaction... Surreal.
