The Tao of Pooh.
Sums up our four weeks nicely, methinks.

When you wake up in the morning, Pooh", said Piglet at last, "What's the first thing you say to yourself?"
"What's for breakfast?", said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?" "I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today" said Piglet. Pooh nodded thoughtfully, "It's the same thing", he said.

We're officially at the turning point; at least in theory, anybody who the Chef Instructors thinks isn't going to cut it, is, well, cut. We're all still here -- although there are a couple I wonder (but not much) whether we'll see on Monday [Update: "Hail hail, gang's all here"].

What an interesting experience! Sure its a Culinary Arts program -- 90% of it is just about what you'd expect -- but the people are the most interesting "surprise" part -- both the students and the Chef-Instructors. What a trip.

I'd thought about writing a bit about each of my fellow students, and decided against it:

  1. They might respond in kind... not that I have any quirks of my own to write about
  2. All these people have complete knife sets
  3. They know where I live

So, except for the occasional blurb on my fellow students (or Instructors, for that matter) -- your secrets are safe with me <<grin>>.

In other news -- after weeks of exhaustive research, we've settled on an Official Group Bar. Its called "Zigs", and its just across the street and one block "up" (South). Over the weeks, our dedication, nay devotion to this bar has earned us status as regulars. Our server ("Tamra") knows what we drink, how we pay, and what we eat. I always wanted to be a "regular"...
