| Season/WX: | Semi-tropical, highs 80s, lows high 70s, humid. Unbelievable mosquitoes at times. It did not rain on Friday; we are still wondering about this. |

Jane and Tom Bauch, Steve and Suzanne Gates, Charlie and Nancy Stuart, Chuck McGowen, Virginia Boylan, Marianne Zinnante(sp?), Scott Blessley & Kathy Hornbach, Dennis and Ericka Barber PLUS a surprising number of new divers and new Groupworthy members (should they accept this awesome challenge)...
Due to a variety of circumstances (last-minute de-commits, changes in plans), we had a bit of a mad-scramble to fill the boat with "qualified" people. Kathy Hornbach sent out feelers far and wide, importing one new diver from England (Peter Williamson), and two more from nearby Massachusetts (Richard Philopena and Barbara Hawkins). We also convinced neighbor Pat Beard to join us -- requiring her to add SCUBA training to an already hectic life. Pat not only got the certification, she completed the PADI checkout dives in New England (what enthusiasm! Is she crazy?), so by the time she got on the boat, she was already certified.

This left one berth. The Texas contingent managed to get the emminently-Groupworthy Stephanie (Steph) Wallace to sign up. She too had to go through the certification procedures (as well as getting a key week in her work-year as a Schoolteacher off for the vacation). After a bit of training on the boat by Dennis Barber, Steph got her temporary PADI card and didn't miss a single dive.
